MS Outlook Tips

1. To change the default font face and styles of your mails: Tools > Options > Mail format tab > click Stationary and Fonts button > Personal Stationary tab > use Font... buttons to select desired fonts for New mail messages, Replying or forwarding messages and Composing and reading plain text messages.

2. To easily change appearance, style and bugbackground image or color your emails: : Tools > Options > Mail format tab > click Stationary and Fonts button > Personal Stationary tab > click Theme..., choose theme or stationary and click OK. To apply stationary to a single message, go to Actions menu > New Mail Message Using > More Stationary > select stationary, compose and send your message. Note: for messages in HTML format only.

3. To increase font size while reading mail: hold down Ctrl while turning the scroll wheel on your mouse down. In Outlook 2007 you can also click Other Actions in message window > Select Zoom from the menu and choose the desired zoom level.

4. To make Outlook your default Email client: click Start > type "default programs" in the Start Search box > click Default Programs under Programs in the search results > click Set your default programs > Select Microsoft Outlook > click Set this program as default (Windows Vista, Windows 7). Or start Internet Explorer, click Tools menu > Internet Options > Programs tab > in the E-mail list, click Microsoft Office Outlook.

5. To change the New Mail Notification sound: select Control Panel from the Start menu > Sounds and Audio Devices > Sounds tab > select New Mail Notification in the Program Events list and select a sound from the Sounds list, or use the browsing button to find sound on your computer. In Windows 7, go to Control panel, type "sound" in the Control Panel Search box and go to Change System Sounds > Sounds tab and then repeat actions described above.
